Chaos erupted at a concert in Melbourne as revelers rushed to the front of the stage in a stampede resulting in people fainting or running over.

The incident happened during American R&B artist Steve Lacy’s performance at the John Cain Arena on Tuesday night.

The singer is touring the east coast of Australia as part of his Give You the World tour.

Tickets for the event were all general admission, meaning there was no seating or standing on the floor, and it was on a “first come, first served” basis.

Fans were allowed to stand anywhere once the ground doors opened, prompting revelers to instantly rush to the front of the stage.

Many passed out amid the chaos, others had panic attacks as they were crushed near the front of the stage.

The event was organized by promoters, Penny Drop and Frontier Touring.

Attendees took to social media to detail their experiences at the concert and blamed lack of security and poor organization for the stampede.

‘Worst organized concert I have ever been to, I almost passed out, I swear to God someone literally could have died trying to get into the arena,’ a worried onlooker said on Twitter.

Another user told the promoters: ‘Embarrassing and dangerous planning last night at Steve Lacy’s. You should be embarrassed and publicly apologize.

“People blocking walkways and exits, jostling at the start and hardly any security personnel.”

“Melbourne Steve Lacy concert was the most poorly organized event I have ever been to, wtf John Cain Arena, luckily Steve is old (sic) and the concert was elite!” commented a third.

Melbourne & Olympic Parks, Frontier Touring and Penny Drop told Daily Mail Australia concert attendees were notified of the event in advance.

“Melbourne & Olympic Parks deployed extensive communication prior to Steve Lacy’s concert at the John Cain Arena, to inform guests that as a general admission event, access to the ground would be on a first come, first served.”

The developer said it was a “standard site format used across Australia and New Zealand sites”.

“Our site management team had a detailed plan in place to manage entry into the site, with security present throughout the day to ensure the well-being of guests, coordinate the queue at the ‘outside the venue and bracelet patrons seeking access to the general admission floor.’

EAST PROVIDENCE — A new waterfront concert hall is being built in the city as part of a $30 million redevelopment near Bold Point Park, where concert organizers, the mayor, the governor and other officials recently gathered to celebrate an inauguration.

The still unnamed outdoor amphitheater is being developed on a plot of public land known as the “Bowtie” by Rhode Island Waterfront Enterprises LLC, which is led by concert promoter and president of Live Nation New England, Don Law. The nearby park has hosted several live musical performances in recent years, including some hosted by Live Nation New England, according to city officials.

General ticket prices for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour start at $49 and go up to $449. Prices for VIP ticket packages will range from $199 to $899, but are limited on a first-come, first-served basis.

Taylor Swift will perform with nine different guest artists on tour, including Paramore, Beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, Girl in Red, MUNA, Haim, Gayle, Gracie Abrams and Owenn.
