Chainsmokers concert was really good

chain smokers released some big news in 2022 – their new album, So far, so good, and an accompanied world tour. 30 locations across the United States host one of the largest EDM tag teams, capable of selling out arenas in every state.

Friday night marked the long-awaited return of Armory fans. Our 2019 article reminds me of how March Madness traced queues for hours, with some even being turned away, although no such issues occurred this time around.

In 2021, chain smokers performed at the Minnesota State Fair, then traveled to The Armory to surprise Louis The Child fans off stage.

Support acts

Doors opened at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, kicking off a long night of pounding bass and uncontroversial tunes. After two acts were completed, two more would perform – the tour’s main supporting artists – to ease the show into the main act.

Nothing noteworthy happened until 11:00 a.m., and since The Chainsmokers are often categorized as “generic EDM,” it didn’t strike me as odd that their show started with several hours of generic EDM.

Three different acts brought pop culture song remixes from artists Lady Gaga, AC/DC, ABBA, and so many more. The attendees didn’t seem to care, but it felt like a vicious cycle of house music, deep house and dance pop, with no end in sight.

I never thought I’d say that, but a touch of dubstep would have been a relief for those few hours.

To pay tribute where it belongs, SIDEPIECE has done a great job of bringing energy to the arena. With songs like “In my thoughts” and their “Limit” remix, the change of pace was certainly well received by the crowd.

The Chainsmokers kicked it off at 12:30, and to my surprise, they actually killed it from song number one.

Backed by a production budget most electronic artists would die for, live versions of their songs hit so much harder than radio.

It’s still pop, top of the Billboard 100, music that’s nothing revolutionary, but it created a great party vibe. With full drum kits on stage left and right, and every song receiving a complete overhaul of their original sound, The Chainsmokers delivered a fun, engaging and memorable evening.

I couldn’t convince your parents to come and enjoy this experience, but I would recommend most e-listeners to attend just once, to see for yourselves.

Running to my photo spots in the VIP sections, I noticed many older attendees (most disappeared with 30 minutes before closing). I hope they had fun like me.
